One of the best aspects of attending Positive birt One of the best aspects of attending Positive birth classes is that your support person will be confident in their role to advocate for you and your baby during pregnancy and birth. During your classes with me , you’ll both understand and trust your body to do what’s best for your baby , you’ll have knowledge , tools and confidence to implement what you learn . Mums who have attended classes with their birth support person rave about how the at person was amazing 🤩. Your body know what to do , your instincts take over but when your partner is on the same page - you can follow your instinctual ability to birth . If things don’t go as planned - you’ll have the knowledge to accept that you did everything you could do and the main goal is for you both you feel positive about your experience. Achieving the perfect latch , with that loving eye Achieving the perfect latch , with that loving eye to eye contact IS possible ! Feeding shouldn’t be something you dread every few hours . It can be something you and your baby love ❤️- it can help you bond with your baby and in turn that bond and that shared moment assists let down ( release of the milk to your baby ) In just 1-2 sessions we can achieve this @katebergamasco lactation support in your home or via phone 📞
Attending a Hypnobirthing class is undeniably THE Attending a Hypnobirthing class is undeniably THE best investment in your pregnancy and birth journey ! I’ll even be bold enough to say - Hypnobirthing has a positive impact on your breastfeeding and parenting experience as well . Although in person classes offer the best experience - if you live too far away , if you or your partner work shift work or you have other children and can’t make it work - we don’t want you to miss out . You and your partner can choose an online class . This gives you the opportunity to watch the recordings at leisure and arrange a zoom session with me to answer any questions or practise the valuable tools 🧰.Drop me a line and ask any questions or if you have been ready to start - book how by following links or call me now - you could begin tomorrow 0409480493 @ katebergamasco
My comment here won’t be popular with breastfeed My comment here won’t be popular with breastfeeding pillow manufacturers - but I don’t care !!! A breastfeeding pillow might be the reason your nipples are sore ! It won’t be the only issue but ditching the pillow will at least relive some of your upper back pain and most likely allow your baby to approach the breast more easily . I often find pillows cause mum to rest the baby on the pillow and then cause “drag” on your nipples . By ditching the pillow and hugging baby closer to you - the baby will be able to achieve a deeper latch . If things are still not 💯 percent - book a phone or in person consult and let’s make breastfeeding 🤱 a dream 😴 @katebergamasco
Are you planning a VBAC ? Two of the best things Are you planning a VBAC ? Two of the best things you must do NOW - 1) make sure your care provider is VBAC supportive A truly supportive ( ask for their stats ) 2) Get informed about natural uninterrupted birth - attend a Hypnobirthing class in person if you can ( or online if you can’t ) - this will ensure you understand about how you can use your breathing techniques / massage / accuressure points and visualisation to achieve a calm positive state of mind in preparation for your birth
The concept of a special chair to feed your baby i The concept of a special chair to feed your baby is lovely. It shows an intent to do whatever you can prior to birth to ensure the best outcome for breastfeeding
BUT many chairs
have a few aspects that render them not so helpful -
Rocking - mums benefit from being stable and they rest their feet on a coffee table or inexpensive foot stool from Bunnings Next is they seem to end up in the nursery - this isolates mum from where the partner is watching TV / preparing food / doing dishes. The arms often get in the way of baby’s feet
####. A more cost
effective / practical solution - is to set yourself up in your living area - this way - your partner and you can chat / watch Tv together / entertain ### or your bed. - laying on your side in bed is more comfortable than sitting upriaht - especiallv if vour bottom is sore or your eyes are dropping . Dont fret - this can be done safely and I’ll show you how at your very first home visit or phone consult @katebergamasco

When you sit to feed your baby , your comfort is n When you sit to feed your baby , your comfort is number one priority . If you’re sitting upright and leaning down to your baby , the tension on your shoulders makes you feel more tired . It may also cause a delay in “letting down” - the more comfortable mum feels , the better the feed , the more milk baby receives - more efficiently and comfortably @katebergamasco midwife and breastfeeding 🤱 specialist - coming to you - in person or video telehealth
I recently visited a new mum for help with nipple I recently visited a new mum for help with nipple pain . I was greeted by a gorgeous healthy and very well fed 8 week old baby boy who was happily sleeping in his grandmas arms . We quickly sorted out the nipple pain by adjusting mums position and she soon experienced less pain . Although I was there to help ease the pain of feeding - mum 👩 explained some issue with sleep which she was going to call CYH about . Through talking we discovered that mum , like so many others had been told about sleep windows and that baby needs x number of hours sleep and should be in bed by x time . By the end of my visit mum was feeling less “stuck” by what should happen and more excited by reading her baby’s cues . This is her feedback @katebergamasco feed 🥘/ 💤 sleep 🛌 / love ❤️
How normal does this look ? How comfortable does i How normal does this look ? How comfortable does it look ? How content is the baby snuggling closely into mums breast ? This mum wasn’t taught this method in hospital ! Sadly most mums get “taught” how to breastfeed 🤱 the way we as midwives were “taught” and it’s not normal , comfortable or efficient ! If feeding time has become an uncomfortable / painful battle for you and your baby - let’s meet - in one session I’ll talk to you about a baby’s natural reflexes which ensure feeding can be easier and more enjoyable . I might even help you enjoy your mothering journey without stress or anxiety 😥@katebergamasco

Affirmations - a powerful tool in your birth tool Affirmations - a powerful tool in your birth tool bag 💼- many mums will make up affirmation cards or a vision board for their birthing day @katebergamasco Hypnobirthing adelaide
Breastfeeding is NOT meant to be painful 😰- unf Breastfeeding is NOT meant to be painful 😰- unfortunately mothers have often been told they just have to wait for their nipples to toughen up 😢This is NOT the case - in fact it’s often the attachment technique that cause the nipples to pain initially and then mums feel apprehensive 😥 about feeding . When you engage an lactation consultant- she will look at where and how you sit , where you baby is positioned and most likely encourage baby led attachment @katebergamasco -lactation consultant & midwife with many years experience

Due to popular demand - I’m running a second wee Due to popular demand - I’m running a second week night class in July - you’ll learn how to achieve a deep state of relaxation while birthing your baby - maybe even with. Smile on your face - just like my latest birthing mumma Hannah ! Her midwife recommends my class to all her clients - quoting “all the mums who have attended Kate’s class arrive almost ready to give birth”- Why ? Because you gain the confidence in your body and birth to stay in your own environment for much of your labour 🥰💤@katebwrgamascohypnobirthing
In the 1980s we began showing mums to shape their In the 1980s we began showing mums to shape their breast and push the babies 👶 head into the breast ! It seemed to work - but the result has been sore nipples , cracked nipples , breast refusal & OVER DIAGNOSIS of tongue tie ! Before you spend $1000 on a tongue tie laser that may not make any difference - see a LC who watches you feed and shows you an alternative to this feeding technique . You’ll not only save your wallet but also your emotional wellbeing and that of your baby @katebeegamasco
